The X-Files
Rated PG-13
121 Minutes

Starring:
David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Martin Landau

Having never seen an entire episode of The X-Files television series, I didn't really know what to expect with the movie. To tell you the truth, I was expecting just your average movie with a few good special effects and a lot of chessy one-liners. What I saw, though, I really enjoyed. I didn't really know about the characters, except form what I'd read in magazines, so I was also expecting to be totally confused, but the screenwriters give the viewer just enough information about the show's history to help understand most of everything that is going on. The movie takes place where the season finale left off (so I've heard). I've read that the plot of the movie is supposed to be secret (well, not much anymore since the movie already opened) and from the other reviews I've read, very little about the plot was written about, so I'm going to do the same. Plus, I don't really feel like even explaining the basic plot because it would take a long time and take up a lot of precious screen space (that's a little joke). So, if you want to know what the movie's about, go to some other website. I'm just here to tell you if its good or not.

Well, the movie does have its unbelievabilties (like Mulder and Scully driving a whole day without getting gas) and it does have some kind of corny one-liners, but the film is still really enjoyable. Unlike Godzilla, which wasn't enjoyable and had a billion unbelievabilities (if there is such a word) and tons of beyond cheesy one-liners. Duchovny and Anderson do pretty good jobs in their roles and Martin Landau also does a good job. I haven't talked to too many X-Philes about the movie, but the ones I did speak to, enjoyed it and the non X-Philers I also spoke to enjoyed it.
